Summary: | Brominated butyl rubber (BIIR) latex was prepared by emulsification process, and the effects of emulsifier type, concentration of BIIR n-hexane solution, emulsification time, emulsification speed, pH value of latex system and distillation method on BIIR latex were studied. The results showed that the optimal conditions for emulsifying BIIR were that mass fraction of BIIR of 15.00% in n-hexane solution, the pH value of the latex system of 11-12, the high-speed shear emulsification time of 30 min, the high-speed shear speed of 5 500-6 000 r/min, and the negative-pressure rotary distillation (pressure of -0.04 MPa), and the demulsification rate of the resulting BIIR latex was low and mass fraction of the total solid could reach more than 45.00%. The best demulsification and film-forming effect was obtained by using mass fraction of 20% calcium chloride solution.
