description The main objective in the present investigation is to apply a statistical analysis of geoelectric field data, based on the Ridge Regression method during the processing phase of vertical electric profile. These data were collected during the field acquisition phase applying the Schlumberger configuration, in the Parroquia Coquivacoa of the Municipio Maracaibo, State of Zulia. Then, the data were processed using the Ghosh method applying lineal models in apparent resistivity curves. This statistical analysis generates such variables as the half error and the residual variance, among other, which indicate the deviations of the residual values, the estimate range and the data noise level. This noise level is defined en 5%, as a product of the relationship between the half percentage error and the standard deviation, which allows guaranteeing confident levels in the interpretation phase of the geoelectric profiles. From the interpretation phase the presence of salt water aquifer al 30 m of depth, with a flow rate of 25 lt/seg is inferred for the studied area.
