Summary:Social functioning of an individual's is an ability to implement its duties an role during interact in certain social situations. The ability of the individual as a member of the family in social functioning positively and adaptively may reflect how families should function. However, it is not easy for individuals with schizophrenia disorder who have barriers in performing social roles, thus requiring the support of the family. As the smallest unit of society and is closest to the individual, the family was able to help maintain and develop the ability of family members. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of family support with social functioning in patients with schizophrenia outpatients. This research is a quantitative correlation with a sample of 100 people. The data collection method using a scale of family support and social functioning scale were analyzed using product moment correlation. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between family support with social functioning (r = 0,508, p = 0.000).
