After studying the Holotype of Rh. angulatocollis, found in the Achille Costa collection housed at the Zoological Museum of Naples, the synonymy: Rhagonycha angulatocollis A. Costa, 1858 = Rhagonycha nigriceps (Waltl, 1838), is here proposed.
