As a result, there was an increase in the number of articles published since the year 2006. The Russian Federation is the country that most publishes works in this field of research. On the other hand, the United States of America is the country that most presents papers considered relevant. A number of 445 authors published papers related to this topic, as first author or co-author, being the journal International Multidisciplinary Survey of Scientific Geoconference, with the largest number of publications. The most frequent keywords in the articles were mapped and divided into four groups: Archeology; Geology and Soils; Urban Deposits; Mining, areas of prominence in this field of research.
