| Summary: | In this work the brief history of the origin of medical biotechnology and characteristics of their overall development with a correlation of biotechnology scientific advances in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, embryology and cell biology, as well as the chemical and information technology, robotics, are given. The author emphasizes that biomedical engineering is interdisciplinary, aimed at improving knowledge in engineering, biology and medicine including the use of technical approaches to solve pressing health problems. The article makes it possible to characterize the current state of development of biotechnology in the world, playing a key role in expanding the range of medical science and the creation of new types of high-tech medical care. |
