Description
Summary:In 2008, the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur (France) asked the research group Deixis-Sophia, from Télécom ParisTech Engineering School, to proceed to a sociological intervention in order to assist the establishment of "PACA Labs", a public programme to suport innovation sustaining experiments "in the real setting" of digital products and services in the region. The aim of the intervention was to assist the Regional Council in the development and conduct of PACA Labs. The request covered both the evaluation of the program and the construction of a methodological framework for involving users in the experimental projects. In addition, it included the participation of researchers in the governance of the program. The paper proposes a reflexive contribution on the analysis of conditions and dynamics of the relationship between knowledge production and participation in a situation of sociological intervention. Its purpose is to question the dilemma of the “expert-researcher” as the authors have lived it through this experience of institutional contract.
