description In order to establish the relationship between jealousy as a personality trait and accentuations or anomalies of character (especially in such types as jamming, exciting, emotional, demonstrative), as well as studying the influence on the jealousy of other personality traits - for example, high emotional excitement and aggressiveness, as well as egocentrism, situational anxiety, and others. 30 people (18 women and 12 men) aged 21 to 49 years were examined. During the study the following tasks were solved: - selection of diagnostic techniques; - conducting a diagnostic conversation / clinical and psychological study in order to collect the necessary information about the conditions and situations in the lives of the subjects being studied; - conducting experimental and psychological research aimed at revealing jealousy (according to the author's questionnaire); - definition of the type of accentuation of character (the method of Leonhard-Shmyshek); - definition of aggressiveness (Bass-Darkie test); - determination of level of personal anxiety (Spielberger-Hanin method); - processing and interpretation of research results. According to the authors, the theme of jealousy in psychological research does not give the importance it deserves, because jealousy can provoke the same neurotic, psychopathic reactions and developments, and also become a source of valuable ideas and delusions of jealousy. One cannot ignore the semantic meaning of the word "jealousy". In the work, besides the clinical-psychological method of research, three tests (Leonhard-Shmyshek, Bass-Darki, Spielberger-Khanin), an author's questionnaire was used to reveal jealousy. According to research, jealousy is based on accentuated character and personality disorder, and external factors contribute to its discovery. It was found that up to the zealous neurotic reactions tend to accentuated individuals, and to supersaturated ideas of jealousy - pathological (strangers / paranoid, excitatory, emotional, exalted and demonstrative, as well as mixed types).
