Summary:Purpose. The article is devoted to the means of reflecting the ancient world in the modern English-language fiction. The research objective is to analyze the features of mythologism in a series of books Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. The main methods of the research are based on the analysis of scientific literature, the continuous sampling method and the method of linguistic description of data with the elements of extra-linguistic interpretation of language facts and contextual analysis. Results. Having analyzed the existing definitions of mythologism and its use in the works by Rick Riordan, we came to the conclusion that the author combines different types of mythologisms, complementing each other, to better express the author’s ideas. Practical implications. The received results can be used in the courses of stylistics, interpretation of the text.
