Description
Summary:Fear of death and passage of time are experienced in different cultures differently. Such a fear can be the reason of all images and representations. The study of a part of Colette’s work showed that the time has decisively a significant role in the imaginations of the writer. Colette, the narrator of love and nature was aware that human’s desires and inclinations would fade out in the course of time. She was not able to withstand the death. How could she cope with this fortune and destruction? To answer this question, we studied the symbols that reflect the domination of Colette over the fear of time and death. For this purpose, we used the method and classification of symbols introduced in Gilbert Durand’s work “the Anthropological Structures of the Imaginary” (Les Structures anthropologiques de l’imaginaire).
