| description | Knowledge to detect danger signs and complications during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and toddlers was very important for mothers and families to break the chain of delays in helping mothers and children with complications. The use of the MCH Handbook was one of the programs and strategies for community empowerment to maintain health and obtain quality maternal and child health services. The MCH handbook contains educational materials on maternal and child health, nutrition, cards for pregnant women, KMS for toddlers, health records, and danger signs/complications for maternal and child health. However, there are still many mothers who have MCH Handbooks but do not bring them to the health check-up, do not read information to improve health, or signs of maternal and child complications. This happened because of the mother's ignorance about the benefits and contents of the MCH Handbook and what information was contained in the MCH Handbook. Even more so during this Vovid-19 pandemic, the pregnant women could not visit to health facilities were not as extensive as before. The purpose of this PKM activity was to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about the MCH Handbook and the use of the MCH Handbook during pregnancy, childbirth, and child care. The target of this PKM activity was to 16 pregnant women at the Independent Practice of Midwife Islah Wahyuni in the village of Kualu Kampar, carried out by PKM Team of lecturers of the Midwifery Study Program and Midwife Profession of STIKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru and the students. The forms of offline activities include the provision of IEC, counseling and problem solving in a question and answer discussion in the ANC class. Counseling materials on maternal and child health, introducing the MCH Handbook including the benefits, how to get it, how to use it, the contents of the MCH Handbook and information on complications and danger signs for mother and child contained in the MCH Handbook. The success of the activity can be seen from the enthusiasm of pregnant women in participating in each activity, the number of questions asked during the discussion, and the increase in the posttest score of knowledge about the MCH Handbook.
Pengetahuan untuk mengenali tanda bahaya dan komplikasi selama kehamilan, persalinan, nifas, dan balita merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi ibu dan keluarga untuk memutus rantai keterlambatan pertolongan komplikasi pada ibu dan anak. Penggunaan Buku KIA merupakan salah satu program dan strategi pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk memelihara kesehatan dan mendapatkan pelayanan kesehatan ibu dan anak yang berkualitas. Buku KIA berisi materi edukasi tentang kesehatan ibu dan anak, gizi, kartu ibu hamil, KMS balita, catatan kesehatan, serta tanda bahaya/komplikasi kesehatan ibu dan anak. Namun masih banyak ibu yang memiliki Buku KIA tapi tidak membawa saat pemeriksaan kesehatan, tidak membaca informasi untuk meningkatkan kesehatan, maupun tanda komplikasi ibu dan anak. Hal ini terjadi karena ketidaktahuan ibu tentang manfaat dan isi Buku KIA serta informasi apa saja yang terdapat pada Buku KIA. Lebih lagi di masa pandemic covid-19 ini, yang kunjungan ibu hamil ke fasilitas kesehatan tidak seleluasa sebelumnya. Tujuan kegiatan PKM ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemanfaatan Buku KIA pada masa hamil, bersalin, dan asuhan anak pada ibu hamil. Sasaran kegiatan PKM pada 16 orang ibu hamil di Praktik Mandiri Bidan Islah Wahyuni di desa Kualu Kampar, dilaksanakan oleh Tim PKM Dosen Prodi Sarjana Kebidanan dan Profesi Bidan STIKes Payung Negeri Pekanbaru beserta mahasiswa. Bentuk kegiatan secara luring meliputi pemberian KIE, konseling dan pemecahan masalah dalam diskusi tanya jawab pada kelas ANC. Materi penyuluhan tentang kesehatan ibu dan anak dengan mengenalkan Buku KIA meliputi manfaat, cara mendapatkan, cara menggunakan, isi Buku KIA dan informasi tentang komplikasi dan tanda bahaya pada ibu dan anak yang terdapat pada Buku KIA. Keberhasilan kegiatan terlihat dari besarnya antusias ibu hamil mengikuti setiap kegiatan, banyaknya pertanyaan yang diajukan saat diskusi, serta peningkatan skor posttest pengetahuan tentang Buku KIA. |
