Se analiza en detalle el rol del virus papiloma en la carcinogénesis cervical y el rol de la tipificación viral en el estudio y manejo de la citología alterada, tanto en la literatura internacional como su aplicación en el modelo chileno<br>Each year in Chile around 1200 new cases of invasive cervical cancer are reported with 677 death by this cause (death rate: 8.4/100,000 women). The epidemiological causative relation between cervical cancer and human papilloma virus is probably the strongest in the international literature.
