Summary: | This essay is meant to provide food for thought on a core topic in Sciascia’s storytelling, that is the theme of justice and its different aspects. Through two political Gothic novels, such as Il contesto and Todo modo, his essays, his journalistic articles, and the most recent biographies, the character of the writer turns out to be outlined as an intellectual against any form of national rhetoric, unrealistic ambition, and naive optimism. The neo-illuminist Sciascia, who considers doubt as valuable as reason, suggests an endless search for truth, while trying to fulfill a fairer justice. |
