description Aim: to describe the nutritional clinical indicators of post operatory patients based on the nutrition field of NANDA International. Method: cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in a university hospital from October to December2012. Astructured script was used to investigate sociodemographic and clinical indicators. The sample consisted of 80 individuals. A descriptive statistical analysis and data were arranged in tables. Results: Eight diagnoses were identified with a predominance of: unbalanced nutrition: lower than body requirements (00002) (58.8%); Excessive volume of liquid (00026) (43.8%) and risk of impaired hepatic function (00178) (42.5%). Conclusion: the individual nutritional status is an important parameter in the surgical process, either for the procedure or after it. Thus, care and nursing actions must prioritize and meet the needs of diagnoses identified in order to avoid postoperative complications.
