Description
Summary:In this work geotechnologies are used to obtaining the watershed in a study case. Taking in account that the Law determines that the hydrographic basin must be considered the elementary study unit, different techniques for obtaining the watershed are tested. In the GIS (Geographic Information System) environment has been used the digital elevation model obtained by the shuttle radar topographic mission (SRTM) as elevation data font, from which, using GIS routines, have been identified the hillside, slopes and the peak line that guides to the watershed identification. In this work has been observed that the GIS environment aloud the diminution of the subjective character of the watershed gathering and gives the opportunity of different user getting very similar watershed limits on an impersonal way, becoming a indication that these technologies can give the basement to the hydrographic resources politics on about the basin limits determination. The Formoso basin (Bonito - MS), has been choose as study area by the importance of its hydrologic resources importance to its region, has been used as a study case and the basin delimitation obtained was consistent with the topographic sheets and to the ground control points, but a quite different from the official limit.
