| description | <p>Con este trabajo se hace una propuesta de estado de la cuestión sobre los continos reales de Castilla y se propone replantear su estudio desde dos enfoques distintos, el de la monarquía y el valor que para ella tuvo esta figura como medio de gobierno al servicio de sus intereses, integrando sus actividades dentro del contexto sociopolítico en que se insertan, y el de la historia social que centraría su estudio en el punto de vista de los continos en su contexto de origen, resaltando el interés que este cargo pudo despertar entre los miembros de las sociedades urbanas como medio de promoción social a través del servicio regio.</p><p><em>This article examines the state of the question concerning the continos (royal guards) and re-examines the scholarship from two different perspectives. On the one hand, it focuses on the monarchy and the value that it sought from these officials as a means of governance at the service of the Crown, framing their activities within the socio-political context from which they originate. On the second hand, it adopts a social historical approach based on the point of view of the continos in their original context, underscoring the interest that this office could hold for members of urban societies seeking social advancement through royal service.</em></p> |
