Description
Summary:This article presents a qualitative approach to the study of older adults’ work experiences analyzing their work trajectories and routines as well as their economic and non-economic motivations to continue working. Semi-structured biographical interviews were used to collect the data from a group of older workers residing in the city of Lima selected through non-probabilistic and purposive sampling. The research findings indicate that education level, socioeconomic status, place of birth and gender have an influence on experiences and working condition in old age. Other factors include the economic, social and political context in which they live.
