Summary:The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze the factors conducive to international activity of regions of paradiplomacy. The authors distinguish two groups of factors: internal and external. Internal factors are caused by internal political, internal economic, social features of development of the state, and external factors are determined by features of foreign policy of the state, involvement in processes of globalization. The authors believe that in assessing the importance of certain factors, it is necessary to proceed from each time a specific case of implementation of international activities of the regions in practice.
