description | This study proposes a decision support system design, as an advanced tool that will be used to determine the calibration periods of measuring instruments for businesses. Since the conditions under which the measuring instruments are used vary for different organizations, there is no specific standard for measuring instrument calibration periods, and these periods are determined by the organizations based on their past usage experience. The calibration periods which are specific to the characteristics of the measuring instruments used should be determined taking these different conditions into account. In this study, it was aimed to create a risk analysis model design and a Microsoft Excel VBA based decision support system in order to eliminate and improve the uncertainty in determining the calibration periods of the measuring instruments by using a quality-based risk-based approach. In order to carry out the risk analysis in this study, a Risk Analysis Model consisting of different parameters has been designed and a decision support system has been completed by creating a database with parameters belonging to different measuring instruments for experimental purposes. With the decision support system application developed in this study, a single pot was created for all measuring instruments in the organization, and at all stages, users were provided with access to all the information they need about the measuring instruments and to have clear information about the instrument turn-in dates for calibration. In this way, a systematic calibration planning has been made possible by eliminating a large amount of problems caused by measuring instruments in the organizations. |
