| Résumé: | Stroke is a very dramatic condition particularly when it takes place in a young patient In this setting the treatment and rehabilitation costs, as well as it tremendous social impact justify the development of prevention strategies aimed to detect and modify risk factors involved in the presentation of the syndrome. We perfonned a review of medical records of patients with stroke consulting to the Hospital San Juan de Dios between January 1995 and June 2000 and describe the risk factors and clinical conditions associated with the syndrome in young people. Besides we present a theoretical review of the topic as a preliminary information for further discussion. |
