description | After the second half of the 20th century, the tradition and theory of global thinking
influenced the essence of the Azerbaijan and Turkey national literature and began to influence
its trend in the form of a system of different ideas and characters. This influence was presented
through literary movements, different styles, and Western-aesthetic features. Alongside its
innovations, a new way of thinking opposed traditional mind, by creating a ‘Man of the New World’. As a result of this process, female characters are slowly moving away from the national
identity, and turn eventually into women of the Western World by losing their Turkish ideology.
Azerbaijani writers, such as Afag Masud, Azer Gismet, Ilgar Fahmi, while in Turkish literature,
Cemal Şakar, Buket Uzuner and Ayşe Kulin were able to bring these kind of women characters
by describing them in the content of psychological, sociological, and national self-awareness in
the literary process. |
