تعددت العلامات التي كونت اللغة المصرية القديمة، ولكل منها طبيعتها الخاصة سواء تصويرية، أو صوتية، أو كمخصص، بحيث أن المصري القديم وظف كل علامة من تلك العلامات في موضعها لتعبر عن كنه شيء ما تدلل عليه أو قريب منها وهذا هو المعتاد في تلك العلامات، إلا أن هناك العديد من العلامات التي وظفها المصري القديم في العديد من المعاني حتى ولو كانت تلك المعاني ذات معاني مختلفة بل متضادة وعكس بعضها، كما هو الحال في العلامة A7 لدراسة، والتي ظهرت على أقل تقدير منذ عصر نصوص الأهرام في الدولة القديمة، وتمثل رجل جاثي خائر اليدين والذراعين غير متحكم في ذاته ، وعبرت عن العديد من الدلالات كالمشاعر المختلفة فجاءت مع الحزن والسعادة في ذات الوقت كما عبرت عن الخوف والذهول والغباء وغياب العقل وحتى عن الصداقة ، كما عبرت عن الحالة الجسدية كالضعف والكسل والمرض ، كما عبرت عن الحالة المادية كالغنى والفقر، ودلالات عن القتل والتمرد والهزيمة ، كما عبرت عن العديد من الدلالات السياقية الخاصة بالحركة كالوقوف والجلوس والركوع والتخفي، كما عبرت عن الماء والأسماء سواء أسماء الأشخاص أو الرُتب أو الآلهة وغيرها ، وبالتالي فإن تلك العلامة من العلامات التي تعددت دلالاتها السياقية في العديد من مناحي اللغة المصرية القديمة.

There are many signs that made up the ancient Egyptian language, and each has its own nature, whether pictorial or phonetic, so the ancient Egyptian placed each sign with its right natural to express the idea of something, its exhibits or what is close to it..
On the other hand, there is evidence that the ancient Egyptians used signs with multiple meanings, some of which were opposite to each other. The sign A7, which will be studied in this paper, exemplifies this phenomenon. The sign A7 appeared at least since the Pyramids texts in the old Kingdom. It represented a semi-sitting man with flabby hands and arms, not in control of his will. It expressed many connotations, such as the psychological and mental state, so it came with sadness and happiness at the same time, as it expressed fear, bewilderment, stupidity, absence of reason and even friendship. It also expresses physical conditions such as weakness, laziness and disease, as it expresses rich or poor state such as wealth and poverty, and it indicate killing, rebellion and defeat. It also expressed many contextual indications of movement such as standing, sitting, kneeling and hiding, as it expressed water and names, whether the names of persons, ranks, or gods and others, and therefore this sign is one of the signs whose contextual connotations are numerous.
