Description
Summary:In Palestine, during the various popular uprisings (Intifadas), women have had to face the dilemma of choosing between giving priority to the struggle to defend their rights or to the need to fight for the national liberation of the Palestinian people, leaving aside their aims of gender equality. With regard to the Intifada Al Aqsa, a specific analysis of the women’s struggle, their progress towards greater emancipation, or, as the case may be, their regression towards traditionalism, has so far been lacking. Accordingly, we have given a number of women the chance to talk about their situation in this conflict.
