Summary:Concrete filled steel tubular short column is a foundamental research on underground steel pipe concrete structure, which involves a new technology of road side support for goaf-side entry retaining,the calculation of the bearing capacity of concrete filled steel tubular circular arch, and the application of concrete filled steel tube support under special conditions such as high and low pressure.By summarying and analysising of existing the theory of concrete filled steel tubular short columns,Interaction mechanism between core concrete and steel tube with different diameters,different thickness of steel pipe was developed, and the corresponding confining pressure was calculated.Three different kind of methods used to estimate the ultimate bearing capacity of concrete filled steel tubular short columns were derived based on limit equilibrium method.Experimental comparative analysis with calculations shows that the theoretical value match well with the experiment value,especially in the thicker steel tube.
