Description
Summary:While the French educational system is being rebuilt, this article aims to compare and establish a dialogue between two projects: a project based on the ethics of care and a project implemented by the Ministry of Education. Based on the national project text, it questions the links between care and a popular notion in the French education system: the « benevolence ». Then, on the hypothesis that this programmatic benevolence has to do with caring, it intend to see how the work of Ned Noddings, an education philosopher, can contribute to the configuration of the benevolence expected for the french system. The relational fundament of caring and the four phases of development defined by Noddings allow benevolence to gain precision and operationalization and to support the school rebuilding project.
