Description
Summary:This article discusses current approaches to first-line chemotherapy for non-resectable head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and describes factors affecting the choice of treatment regimen according to the results of randomized clinical trials. We provide a rationale for creating a long-term strategy of chemotherapy in different clinical situations. We also report two cases of concomitant administration of cetuximab and platinum-based therapy as an example of high efficacy of monoclonal antibodies.
