| Summary: | This article aims to portray the history and the current characteristics of the International Ph.D. program of Business Administration at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs. It presents the events that led to the creation of the program, the philosophy of the founders, the governing idea that still prevails and the academic structure. Innovation and continuous development were those core values besides academic excellence that drove the responsible management towards constant learning and improvement. The last section of the article gives some aspects of the challenges of the future.
