description | Derivational occasionalisms produced by bilingual and monolingual children are compared in the article. It is revealed that investigated bilingual children are generally prone to occasional word-formation just like monolingual children. This is explained by the fact that these bilingual children study Russian by natural means (not by special training). At the same time, it is shown that bilingual children demonstrate more “erroneous” occasional derivates, i. e. derivates based on inappropriate word-formative models, not those that are required for each particular case, as compared to monolingual children. |
