Summary:The history of the ’68 student movement in Mexico has been studied from different angles and perspectives in the last 40 years. However, the strategic role played by photography in the period has been long ignored. This article aims to review the photojournalistic coverage on the Mexico ’68 student movement, as well as to discuss some of the problems underlying the political and ideological orientations of newspapers and magazines. The fhotographic of Mexican newspapersand magazines was quite comprehensive and followed at large the orientations of the political party that ruled the State at the time.
