| Summary: | The financial perspective for 2014–2020 is a great opportunity to garner support for the development of vocational education and to bridge the gap between supply and demand for skills and competences on the labour market. This paper aims to identify reasons for the shortage of talent (based on the analysis of the existing sources and the author’s own research, from a regional perspective) and to formulate on this basis certain initial recommendations for the development of academia – business – student/graduate cooperation. Co-operation which will result in minimising the mismatch between employers’ expectations and potential employees’ qualifications and competences. |
