description | Knowledge management, a strategic factor of great importance in contemporary organizations, possesses a natural proximity to innovation, where product development is a critical process. The main objective of this article is to perform a bibliometric analysis of the works developed from the theme - Knowledge Management aligned to Product Development. Though there are historically a significant number of well described studies, the current study is justified due to the few numerical studies and classification of publications about this issue in the current analysis. To this end, a study verifying the scientific studies undertaken in the period between 1996 and 2015 was performed using one of the largest consolidated international data bases, Scopus of Elsevier Publishing. The selection of works was based on the combination of terms in English that were contained in the title, abstract or keywords of the publications. The results showed that, the most productive period was between 2007 and 2011. The number of publications increased over the years, with the United States and China being the countries that most developed studies. The article with most quotations was "A pragmatic view of knowledge and limits: Border objects in the development of new products". Product Innovation Management is a magazine that published the most articles on this type of topic. |
