Description
Summary:Dust and dust storms are among the climatological disasters that have many negative effects on the environmental, economic and health levels. Therefore, the study aims to verify the correlation between the recurrence of dust storms, the rising and suspended dust, and the climate elements. The study follows the descriptive and analytical approaches, by relying on the data of the Kuwait International Airport station during the study period from 2000 to 2020. The research proceeds from the hypothesis that there are many climatic data that affect the picture of the spatial distribution of dust storms and their frequency, by processing the data by means of the correlation coefficient and the statement of the direction and strength of the relationship for the studied phenomenon, on which the influence is located, and the independent variables affecting it, represented in the elements of the climate. The study found that the relationship between wind speed and the frequency of dust and dust storm is a strong direct relationship. The analysis concluded It recurs in (May, June, and July), where the frequency of intensity increases, and the majority of these storms occur due to strong winds, low rainfall, lack of vegetation cover, and soil dryness.
