Brazil has been reducing its relative participation in this competitive market. The theoretical and empirical results suggest that domestic problems in the production of green coffee, the main input of soluble coffee, affects negatively the international demand for Brazilian soluble coffee. Furthermore, they suggest that some of the temporary loss of traditional consumers turn into definitively losses.
