description | Introduction: Users of hospital information systems deal with these systems on a daily basis therefore, they are completely familiar with their positive and negative aspects. We aimed to determine the viewpoints of different users on the hospital information system in Nemazee hospital, Shiraz, southern Iran.Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study is based on descriptive-analytical methods. The statistical population comprised users of hospital information systems. Data collection was done using related questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS software for descriptive and analytical statistics. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and t tests were used as appropriated. Results: The participants’ overall attitude scores were nearly below the average level. Individuals with a diploma degree (mean score=31.3) had the highest negative attitude while those with a bachelor’s degree (mean score=63.6) had the highest positive attitude towards the hospital information system. Moreover, the corresponding score for individuals with an associate degree was 51.2.The most positive attitude belongs to those whose major was medicine or statistics with an average of 71.7%. However those who worked in drugstores had the most negative attitude toward this system with an average of 36.6%. Individuals who worked at the medical documents department had the most positive attitude with a mean contentment of 69.4. In the present study any increase in years of service directly influenced positive attitudes towards the application of information software. The individuals’ sex had no significant impact on their attitude towards the hospital information system. Conclusion: Since the users attitudes regarding the hospital information system were negative and this is possibly the main reason for the users' inconsistency with this system, reconsideration and revision in order to enhance the performance and information quality of this system is inevitable. |
