description | Introduction: An immature cataract is one of the most common causes of visual impairment, such as faded colors, hazy vision, light halos, and difficulty with bright lights. It is commonly found in the senile age group. Kaphaja Timira is one of the Drishtigata Rogas in which Doshdushti appears in Pratham and Dwitiya Patalas. Main Clinical Finding: A male patient of age 62 years old complained of right eye progressive painless diminutions of vision, distorted vision, and light sensitivity. Diagnosis: The patient was diagnosed with a right eye immature cataract. The cortical cataractous alterations and iris shadow were the clinical findings observed in the right eye. Intervention: The patient was given Bhojanottar 20 ml Triphala Kwath with 10 ml Triphala Ghrita, and Bhringraja Tail Nasya two drops in each nostril daily morning, both are prescribed for a month. Outcomes: Distortion of eyesight is minimized, and improvement in visual acuity is noted. Conclusion: Triphala, Bhringraja and Yashtimadhu are having Chakshushya and Rasayana qualities. It has been found that Triphala exhibits anti-cataractous effects. |
