Summary: | The submitted contribution describes the hydrometallurgical way of tetrahedrite concentrate processing by mechanochemical leaching under the application of alkaline Na2S solution. The introduced method of processing enables to achieve required metals separation selectivity in the liquid phase and the solid state. Antimony, mercury and partly arsenic are dissolued in the solution, while copper and precious metals remain in the solid state. Subsequently, this solid state is treated pyrometallurgically. Antimony from thesolution can be processed either by pressure oxidation into antimony salt or by electrolysis into the cathodic metal. Before electrolysis mercury is removed from the solution by precipitation into a cemen-tation product and recovered under application of distillation and condensation.
