description The last two socioeconomic crises (2008 and 2020) in Spain have aggravated the precarious situation of the youth population in the labour market, reducing their chances of emancipation. However, the information that can be obtained from official statistics shows that the impact has not been homogeneous, affecting young women to a greater extent due to their situation of structural vulnerability. This article analyses whether the situation of the youth population in the Spanish labour market is due to variables that draw some of the crosscutting axes of social inequality: origin, gender and level of education. In addition, it examines whether the measures aimed at young people implemented since 2013 to reduce the effects of the crises, have considered these variables in the design of public policies. Any diagnosis, and the possible actions that may arise from it, should take into account the multidimensional nature that falls under the umbrella of the concept of youth.
