Summary: | This article studies the audiovisual representation of the Partido Comunista de España (PCE: Spanish Communist Party), presenting it as a historiographical practice that has proposed various signification logics in the past. First, the article reviews aspects related to the relation between television, history, and memory. Second, it presents an interpretational review of how the history of the PCE has been recreated in Spanish television between the 1960s and now. The results provide a panoramic view of historical framing and enunciation based on television and, to a lesser extent, cinema, such as memorial reports, educational or research documentaries, dramatic fiction, underground movies, or militant feature-length films. |
