Summary: | An interpretive understanding of information can be developed by drawing on a number of premises of autopoiesis in combination with Spencer-Brown’s laws of form. Such understanding views information as self-referential meaning construction by observing an object. Therefore, information can be perceived as form resulted from individuals’ making distinction of their environment. By analyzing forms - token of indications - one can empirically understand what information is constructed. Such investigation is a qualitative exploration of human actions and interpretations. |
