Description
Summary:The nature of football, its rules and possibilities of implementation, mobilize profound dimensions of the human being as well as its relationship with the world. To analyze it aesthetic and anthropologically in relation to literature allows us to discover, understand and appreciate the richness and density of these experiences. Football is a competition or dispute game, hence its emotional force; next to literature, it also reveals its condition of mimetic play, metaphor of life, language “showing” us. The use of the exclamation Maracaná! as a beautiful girl goes past illustrates how literature works as a non-conventional sign: the musicality of the word and the image of the stadium make the sense. It reveals not only how far-reaching and strong the soccer emotions are, but also its capacity to “conquer” other fields and inspire great literary works.
