Summary:In this article retrospective follow up of the 28 patients who were operated in Istanbul University, Cerrahpafla Medical Faculty ENT department due to malignant salivary gland tumors between the years 1994-2001. Fifty-seven percent of the patients were female and fortythree percent of them were male, ages ranging between 45 and 65 averaging 55.4. Histopathologically the most frequent tumor was adenocystic carcinoma followed by malignant mixed tumor and the most frequent site was parotis gland. Fourteen of the patients were applied total parotidectomy, 5 of them superficial parotidectomy, 3 of them palatine resection, 2 of the patients resection of floor of the mouth and 4 had submandibular gland resection. During the first operation 5 patients had radical neck dissection and 8 of them had functional neck dissection. Postoperatively 25 of the patients had radiotherapy.
