| description | The demarcation of functions between the Navy and the Coast Guard in Argentina are legally mandated by the legislation in force in the country. While this legislation assigns to the military ‘s primary mission to avert and repel external state’s military aggressions and, therefore, being the Argentinean Navy who must have control of maritime areas, it must discern who perform bans on ships intruders (NAI) that are not coming from an external state military aggression.
In this definition, different criteria such as the nature of the problem facing, the international and national legislation, as well as the allocation of resources of the National State, are overlaped to account for the problem of NAI in the Argentinean Sea.
In that sense, this article presents what are the maritime areas involved and a brie y review of the international and national reference tools as well as the distinctive features in the interpretation that the Argentinean forces make about the legislation. |
