Summary: | We aim to present reflections about the transformations of the rural space of the municipality of Caetité - Bahia, caused by the insertion of developmentalist projects in this space. We will use bibliographical references as subsidies on territorial reconfiguration, as well as the ideological bias of the discourse of modernization and development, and the appropriation of this by the State. Concomitantly we will use part of the material collected in in pratic activity, in which local residents were heard who reported the consequences of the insertion of Bahia Mineração activities and the construction of the West-East Integration Railroad (FIOL) in these local rural communities. In this way, we draw parallels on the territorial conflicts experienced by residents of rural communities who struggle to stay in these spaces and to preserve the existing natural resources, outlining a scenario about the production of space in this geographical situation.
