description This article discusses the politicization of the vaccine in the United States through an analysis of Trump’s positions, policies and responses to the pandemic, from denial to the race for the vaccine with the Operation Warp Speed program. The exhibition is organized around two objectives: to understand the race for the vaccine in the context of denial and deepening of the Trump government’s neoliberal policies and to understand the tensions and mobilizations in the context of the crisis and politicization of the vaccine that called social legitimacy into question of science. The reaction to Trump’s denial and anti-scientism with the mobilization of scientists, regulatory agencies and vaccine development companies blocked the political use of the vaccine as Trump’s electoral strategy. However, if the politicization and distrust of public opinion in the United States produced anti-Trump mobilizations in the scientific field, they also mobilized conceptions and values of the neoliberal and conservative ideals of North American society. The argument is organized around two themes: the relationship between science and politics and the deepening of neoliberal policies and conceptions in the Trump government.
