description Digression is the kind of speech wherethere is a sudden transition and the addressee is changed during the discourse itself. It may exist in the changing of the style of speech from Third person to First Person or into Plural Pronoun. It plays rhetorically a vital role in the eloquence of speech in Arabic language to draw more attention of listeners. It is a very unique style of Qur'anic Rhetoric. There is an academic conflict surrounding the definition of Digression (A1-11teffit) among the scholar of Queunic Studies; AI-Zamakhshari and the general community of scholars. The sequences of this academic disagreement are divided into two aspects: Logical Aspect and Terminological Aspect. In my article, I shed light on this intellectual ambivalence in detail. At the end, I raised the question whether Digression (All-thefiit) is pertaining to the branch of Semantics or Aesthetics. I attempted to answer this question in details with Linguistic and Semantic arguments.
