description The Supramolecular Coordination Complexes or SCCs provide an opportunity to create new and fascinating molecular architectures with a myriad of potential applications in various fields including sensing, magnetism, catalysis, light-harvesting, stabilization of unstable intermediate, bio-imaging, optoelectronics, etc. But reports on the application of SCC in the field of alternative energy are scarce. The proton conductivity is a crucial component of the fuel cells which has been touted as a game-changer in the field of alternative energy along with hydrogen fuel-based engines. In this review, the recent literature updates on the applications of SCCs as potential proton-conducting materials are illustrated.
