Summary:The current study focuses on the concept of greeting, which can be viewed as a sociolinguistic as well as a pragmatic phenomenon. The goal of this research is to see how similar and different this method is in Arabic and English. It is hypothesized that Arabic greeting expressions are more informative than that in English. Furthermore, the researchers attempt to provide adequate background knowledge for those who are interested in this domain. It has been observed that Arabic greeting expressions carry a lot of meanings.
