| Summary: | Coastal land is marginal land for farming, but due to the decreasing number of agricultural lands, it is widely used for farming. The research was conducted in Panjatan District, Kulonprogo. This study aimed to know farm performance, describe the entrepreneurial character of farmers, and analyze the relationship between farm performance and the entrepreneurial character of watermelon farmers on coastal land. Respondents in this study were 40 farmers who cultivated watermelon on coastal land and were taken using the census method. Data were collected by interviewing farmers with a questionnaire. To analyze the entrepreneurial character using descriptive analysis based on data scoring from the Likert scale. Farming performance was measured using income and profit. Then, the Spearman Rank correlation was used to determine the relationship between farming performance and the entrepreneurial character of watermelon farmers. The results showed that the entrepreneurial character of the coastal land watermelon farmers was included in the strong category with a percentage score of 69%. Watermelon farming on coastal land during the planting season in February 2020 earned an income of IDR. 12,537,957 and a profit of IDR. 9,723,343 so that farming is feasible. Farming performance positively correlates with the entrepreneurial character of watermelon farmers on coastal land in Panjatan District.
