Summary: | The object of this text consists in showing how the extension of academic studies for young people from working and immigrant classes and the perspective of employment and status that such a process points to, is accompanied by a deep change in the relations of transmission between parents and children, especially in the families less familiarised with the school world. Renewed forms of relationship and transmission patterns between generations give way to the renewal of roles in so far as the very first years of adolescence are characterized by individual autonomy. The mode of socialization and identity construction is determined by dynamics where the wish of emancipation goes hand in hand with the risk of a more intensive process of relegation. |
