description Constantine-Cyril began to write Slavonic by adapting the Greek alphabet – which we could call ‘Constantinian’, not yet ‘Cyrillic’ – because, despite what Chrabr claims, the Greek cultural tradition and avoiding the accusation of heresy was more important than phonetics.
